Wet Polishing

WHAT IS WET POLISHING?

Wet polishing is a technique used for shining granite and other hard materials frequently used in kitchen worktops. Wet polishing consistently produces the best finish when looking for that mirror shine finish.

POLISHING PADS

Wet polishing requires diamond marble polishing pads that are specially designed to work whilst using water. These pads are circular and have a pattern of indentions. These are channels that help to direct the water over the surface during polishing.

Using water keeps both the pads and the surface from overheating. The water also helps remove the waste material that is being cut. This process greatly diminishes airborne dust and avoids any contamination. The dust is captured in a slurry that stays out of the air.

BUFFING & POLISHING

Wet polishing produces a consistent shine across multiple surfaces. To achieve these results, we use a handheld buffer. As you can imagine, it’s both wet and messy. To keep dry during this process, you’ll find us kitted out in wellies and a full length rubber suit!
